As the global new energy sector continues to gain momentum, more and more EV charging-related enterprises are expanding their global footprint. Tonhe Technology, a leading provider of EV charging modules, is actively embracing the wave of global new energy development. At EVS38 2025 in Gothenburg, Sweden, which attracted over 300 exhibitors and more than 24,000 attendees, Tonhe Technology showcased its latest 9th-generation charging modules. The team engaged in in-depth exchanges with EV charging companies worldwide to explore the opportunities and challenges in developing charging infrastructure across the Nordic region.

Empowering High-Quality Development of Nordic Charging Infrastructure

Norway: Favorable policies and infrastructure leadership. EVs are exempt from purchase tax and VAT, with a partial VAT applied to models priced over NOK 500,000. The government mandates fast charging stations every 50 kilometers on major roads and partners with companies like Fortum and CircleK to expand the network.
Sweden: Public-private cooperation and green finance. Subsidies, tax exemptions, and low-interest loans reduce the cost of EV ownership. By 2025, financial support will be further strengthened. The Stockholm government collaborates with private companies to install chargers in residential and commercial areas, utilizing smart grids to enhance charging efficiency.
Denmark: Renewable energy integration and smart charging. Charging infrastructure is integrated with wind and solar energy to drive "green electricity direct charging" projects. In Copenhagen, V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology is being piloted. Government subsidies cover up to 30% of installation costs for chargers in residential and commercial settings, and Denmark plans to ban the sale of gasoline vehicles by 2035.
Across the Nordic region, governments are leading the way in building EV charging infrastructure through a combination of policy incentives and subsidies. At EVS38, Tonhe Technology introduced its 9th-generation 40kW charging modules, which boast peak efficiency >97.2%, zero standby power consumption, and noise levels <65dB — providing strong support for the healthy and high-quality growth of Nordic EV infrastructure.

Meeting Unique Regional Demands with Purpose-Built Solutions

Highlight 1: Full Power Performance at -40°C

The Nordic region lies between latitudes 55°N and 70°N, characterized by long, harsh winters (often below -30°C) and short, cool summers. Areas above the Arctic Circle also experience polar day/night cycles, intensifying temperature swings and climatic extremes. These conditions place stringent demands on EV chargers’ low-temperature performance, which is directly tied to the capabilities of their power modules.
Tonhe’s 9th-generation charging modules are engineered to deliver full performance in environments as cold as -40°C, ensuring reliable operation even in the most extreme Nordic climates. Also unveiled at the exhibition was the 30kW DC/DC module, designed to integrate seamlessly with Europe’s abundant solar and wind energy resources, promoting the coordinated development of PV-storage-charging and wind-storage-charging systems.

Highlight 2: Dual-Sided Gel-filling for Maximum Durability

All Tonhe EV charging modules feature dual-sided gel-filling, significantly enhancing reliability under harsh operating conditions — especially in demanding MCS charging scenarios such as for heavy-duty vehicles and maritime applications. This design greatly reduces failure rates and delivers a high-performance, highly stable solution for users across Europe.
